Ms. Lothrop’s 14 foot tall stainless steel piece “Grove” (right) was one of twenty sculptures selected in a nation wide arts call for the year long exhibition in the 6th Annual Florida Outdoor Sculpture Competition curated by the Polk Museum of Art in Lakeland Florida. (www.PolkMuseumofArt.org) Of the twenty selected sculptors, four are from North Carolina – certainly a mark of the vitality of the arts in our state. Ms. Lothrop's "A Subtle Miracle" (above) has been selected for this same honor in the 7th Annual Competition and will be on exhibit at the Polk Museum during 2007.

Currently in construction at Lothrop’s studio is an eight foot  stainless steel piece for the Newman Catholic Student Center in Chapel Hill NC.  The sculpture, entitled “Mother of the Dispossessed,” is scheduled for  installation in early May.
